CONFERENCE VENUE FINLANDIA HALL
Address: Mannerheimintie 13 e, 00100 Helsinki
Alvar Aalto’s iconic creation, Finlandia Hall, is an experiential event centre and a fascinating meeting place in the middle of the most beautiful part of Helsinki. Finlandia Hall’s permanent exhibition takes visitors on an inspiring journey to the sources of creativity of Alvar, Aino, and Elissa Aalto, as well as to the essence of Finnishness. The narrative-driven exhibition tells an unprecedented story about creativity, Finnish identity, and humanity through the lives and works of the Aaltos, significant events in Finnish history, and the relationship with Finnish nature and forests. The overall experience will provide new perspectives on the Aaltos’ achievements and their impact on Finnish architecture, design, and international networks.
Finlandia Hall is surrounded by some of the most interesting locations in Helsinki. It's only a short walk from the striking curved glass-and-wood facade of the Central Library Oodi. Event and concert venue Musiikkitalo is also situated in close proximity. Musiikkitalo is the result of a joint endeavour by the Sibelius Academy, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.
HELSINKI
Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is a vibrant seaside city of beautiful islands and great green parks. The city’s rhythm is laid back yet at the same time refreshingly active in terms of both the number and quality of restaurants and nightclubs.
Helsinki is a compact city easily explored on foot. Design, architecture, culture and shopping are all great exploration angles and large park areas, forests, lakes, and the coastline with numerous islands sprinkled off it make certain there’s no shortage of natural presence. Needless to say, there’s something going on in Helsinki every day of the year.
